Super Bowl 50 Champs! All things Broncos

Who might the Broncos sign in Free Agency?

We’ve all read about what Broncos might become unfortunate casualties to the salary cap via free agency, but let’s take a look at who they might sign after freeing up cap room with roster moves in addition to what they already currently have.

Peyton isn’t coming back.  This site will always assume forward thinking on Denver’s behalf.  We’ll never turn the page on someone who can bring value to the team for a year, but this is Brock’s team now and Elway has known that since midway through the 2015 season.

Peyton Retires:  $19m freed up cap

Ryan Clady has been on the bench 2 of the last 3 years.  He’ll be back, but it will be at a reduced rate and he’s already said he’d be willing to re-visit his contract.

Clady takes a Pay cut: $10m to $6 = $4m freed up cap

Lastly, the guy we should truly credit for Von Miller’s maturity off the field, DeMarcus Ware.  He still looked as fresh as ever down the playoff stretch, but I just don’t see him back at $10m/yr.  I see him either taking a significant pay cut, or being shown the door so we can recoup the full $10m.

Ware gives back or walks: $10m to $5m or $0 = $5m or $10m freed up cap
